For this meeting, I'm planning an open debate on the relative benefits of FileMaker 12 over FileMaker 11. Please email me as to which version you now use for new development work and we will see if we can't get some perspective on our future options for development.

We will also have some interesting presentations on the current state of FileMaker development - using our new 1080p Digital Projector - technology has finally caught up with the FMDA!

I would be pleased to hear from anyone who would like to make their own presentation on any FileMaker-centric subject. Please send me an email describing your chosen subject and the length of time required for your session (10 to 30 mins).

If you are planning to attend this FMDA meeting, then I would be obliged if you could eRSVP to me so that we can have some idea of numbers on the night. If you don't need to rush off after the meeting, then please allow time to join us for a meal.

  • FMAnnounce is a mailing list by Database Pros that keeps you on top of FileMaker-related announcements, including products, resources, tools and training materials.
  • FMPExperts is a mailing list which addresses beginner and advanced FileMaker techniques as well as FileMaker Pro questions and answers.
  • Troi FileMaker Plug-in Talk is devoted to all issues regarding the use of plug-ins with FileMaker Pro. This includes installation issues, scripting, requesting new features and more.
  • Lasso Talk is an email discussion about using Lasso to host FileMaker Pro databases on the Web. Hosted by OmniPilot Software.
  • Dartmouth University hosts an ongoing discussion via email. To subscribe, send a message to: listserv@listserv.dartmouth.edu and include in the body of the message: "sub FMPRO-L firstname lastname". Substitute your first and last name.
